Hooray! We are leaving!

I can hardly believe it! We are actually scheduled to leave the US on Saturday! We'll get to Bombay/Mumbai late Sunday night, then the plan is to spend Tuesday in Delhi, Wednesday (Gotcha Day!), Thursday, and Friday in Kolkata, and start the flight home early Saturday morning, the 23rd. That means we'll be home in time for Christmas! I can't believe it! Now there are a couple of prayer concerns above and beyond the "normal" ones associated with this kind of trip. #1 Our buddy passes are on a stand by basis, so pray that we don't get bumped There is only one flight per day, so if we miss the one Saturday, we'll be out of luck until Sunday. #2 The airport in Bombay has gotten mixed reviews as far as safety. #3 We only have one day in Delhi and 2 3/4 days in Kolkata to get everything done. Pray that will be enough time. #4 Please pray that all of our luggage makes it with us on time. OK. I guess that's more than a couple, but feel free to pray for all four and more!

We are trying to spend all of the time that we can together as a family of 4 before we leave. I'll go ahead and work tomorrow, but after that, we'll be joined at the hip. Speaking of work, there is a girl there who will take over for me and it will be seamless for the students. She will do a great job! Actually, should I ever find a public school teaching job again, she could take over for me full time!

Now it's a matter of making a list of lists and checking them twice. But I need to go to bed first. There aren't too many of those full-night's-sleep nights left! :)

G'night!

Congratulations to all of you! We may have crossed paths in the air . . . our flight from London to Chicago landed at 6:30 p.m. :o) Still wish we could've been in India together, but I'm so grateful all the pieces are in place for you right now. BTW, Peter has flown in/out of Bombay twice and didn't tell me any awful stories . . .
Merry Christmas,
Nancy
